"This is your lady D-Rock and you're listening to Bmore Smooth Radio and it's a cool Friday night at 10:00 on the dot at around 85 degrees, it's just warm enough for all of ya'll ladies out there to go out with your girlfriends, looking your finest, to hit the clubs downtown and go find you a new man cause your old one isn't worth a damn anymore and you know it, well it's about that time to put on another song."
Alicia was sitting on the couch with a bottle of red wine in her hand as she listened to the radio thinking about how her ex boyfriend was crying on the phone while they were arguing and bad mouthing each other.
That was over a week ago and she dropped it, she didn't forgive him but she just dropped it from her mind so it wouldn't interrupt her weekend and following week at work. It was a whole week and she knew that the whole thing was under the rug and forgotten but she knew her man and she knew with him being predictable as ever that he would call her after a week and try to carry a conversation as though all he did was something as small as stand her up on a date. "What do you want David?" she said after picking up the phone after one ring. "Hey baby, how whats up?" he said as though he was oblivious to her irritation in her voice. "What did you forget that you said you didn't need me anymore because the girls up your job was gonna hold you down?"
He had a pause in his voice "Naw I love you because you're independent and I was just saying that cause I knew it would make you mad because them hoes is far from independent you know what I mean?" Alicia laughed, "So you thought it was gonna make me mad cause you was fucking other bitches that aren't even on my level, damn I knew you was stupid but now I know that you just don't have a brain to think, oh yeah the sex wasn't good at all I had to use my 'friend' who was packing more than you will ever have." She hung the phone up after that knowing that his ego was hurting and he wouldn't want to come back for more.
Her phone vibrated on her coffee table and saw it was her friend Christina calling her she picked up, "Girl you got ya stuff on?" She sat back down and took another mouthful of wine and said," No I don't cause I'm not going out Chris, where are you your way to anyway?" Alicia then walked in her bedroom and noticed the golden skirt and lightly golden and black open toe heels on her bed. "On my way to ya house duh, do you got the skirt on?" Alicia was already trying it on when as soon as she seen it she pulled it down then up then a little down and then a little up so that way it would be at it's perfect height low enough to look classy but not prudery and high enough for the right guy to know that she knows what she wants. "Yeah I like it." She stood in front of the mirror and took a side pose to see how far her butt would stick out.
As a sudden urge to ignore inhibitions came about her she pulled her skirt up a height that was measured by her newly manicured pointing finger nail and felt satisfaction being perfectly comfortable in her new skirt. Her friend, who had got in after knocking several times had found the key she had in her hand, had shouted upstairs, " Hurry up Cinderella we gotta meet up with Sierra In like thirty minutes in front of the hotel." Alicia who had came downstairs with her purse spilling what little she had in it while she was coming downstairs. "Why is she not ready to go out anyway?"
"You know she one of them chicks that be ready before she go to work, you know she got that bag with her outfit in her office so she ready to go." The girlfriends walked out of the house with Alicia looking for her keys and Christina handing them to her as they walked out the door. "Where are we going anyway?"
"Remember we agreed to listen to the club pulse tonight?" the duo got into Chris's car and drove off downtown for a night on the scene.
